
Eligibility

The 100 Thousand Foundation funds high impact, youth-focused academic and athletic programs in Chicago. To be eligible for consideration, you must have the following requirements:

Public Charity
Be classified for a minimum of 3 years as a public charity with tax exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Chicago Based
Be headquartered, operate and provide the majority of services to under-resourced communities in the Chicago Area.

Independently Audited
Independently file an IRS Form 990 (unless exempt by federal law) and be independently audited.

Spending Timeline
Use the full amount of the grant within 2 years.

Spending Oversight
Agreement to allow oversight of grant usage by a representative of The 100 Thousand Foundation.

Getting Started
If you meet the eligibility requirements, tell us a little about you by submitting this form.

Phone Interview
Once reviewed and approved, we will conduct a phone interview with your program representative.

Site Visit
After a successful phone interview, we will visit your site to learn more.

Final Decision
Finalists will be invited to present their program in a member meeting, where a final decision will be made.
*The 100 Thousand Foundation does not fund: Capital projects to property that are not owned by the applicant or leased under a lease with less than 5 years remaining; acquisition of real estate, debt reduction, fundraising activities, endowments, private foundations, pass through grants, organizations that will use the grant for partisan, legislative, political or inherently religious activities.
